To advocate conservation of butterflies, the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens has added a new feature, Nature Conservation Corner. In carrying out its routine horticultural maintenance work, we adhere to the principle of protecting nature and ecology, which means minimising the use of chemical herbicides, planting more flowering and fruit-bearing native plants, as well as reducing the trimming and removal of vegetation to preserve habitats for butterflies. It is our earnest hope that members of the public can see butterflies here and realise the importance of thriving with nature, thereby meeting the goal of “love and care for all”.
